A Building's Feng Shui Caused Big Problems,
That Changed My Life!
by P.K. Odle, The Feng Shui Advantage
Most people remember L.A.Gear, the shoe company. However, few know what happened to them. I was the on-site travel agent at L.A.Gear when they moved their offices from three separate buildings in Marina del Rey to one building in Santa Monica. There were a few people laid off due to the consolidation of all the offices, which was to be expected. Little did anyone know that those lay-offs were only the beginning, because no one knew that the new building had a major Feng Shui problem.
As the next three years passed, every few months department after department was eliminated and their work was out-sourced. When they released their entire world-wide sales team, they no longer needed my services as their exclusive travel agent. From that point on, L.A.Gear would no longer be manufacturing their own line, but would merely license their name to other manufactures.
The travel agency I worked for within L.A.Gear moved me to their office near by. However, I was miserable working in the chaos of the reservation center and longed for my private office at L.A.Gear. A co-worker, who knew how unhappy I was, gave me a monthly lecture flyer for Barnes & Nobles bookstore. I don't know what she pointed to on the flyer, because I spotted Master Sang's face in the upper right hand corner. That was the first time I read the words 'Feng Shui' and I immediately wanted to know more. I attended his lecture that Friday night and purchased his book "The Principles of Feng Shui.
I knew that the methods I used from his book were just the tip of the Feng Shui iceberg and I was building an excellent foundation for learning the complete scientific methods that have been used since before paper was invented. By early Sunday afternoon, I implemented all the remedies for my apartment and Monday afternoon I was asked if I would like to be recommended for the on-site travel agent position at Creative Artist Agency in Beverly Hills. I accepted the position by the end of the week, so within one week of meeting Master Sang, I had a prestigious new position and a private office again.
From that point, I was hooked on Feng Shui and realized how blessed I was to have met one of the top five Master of this ancient Chinese science. Helping others has always been a priority in my life, so in 1997 I gave up the travel business to do Feng Shui consulting full-time. It is clear to me that I have found my true calling, because I am actually energized when I am working with a client.
So what happened to L.A.Gear? Their building was my first practice case for a professional building. I found out the year the building was built and went to the building on a Saturday to take the compass reading. What the Feng Shui calculations revealed explained why so many businesses since 1984 had gone under in that building. The building was in a '20 year Money Lock,' which makes it impossible to prosper without the necessary remedy to release the lock. Had L.A.Gear know this, they could have made the remedy a stipulation in their lease and avoided the problem. Or decided to find a more supportive building.
Nobody is perfect and there is no such thing as a perfect Feng Shui building. Every building has some supportive and some sabotaging energy patterns. However, the majority of buildings are easily remedied with simple elemental remedies, so there is no need to live with sabotaging energies. After all, Knowledge is Power.
